Pollinator Mural “The Wasp”
Completed in July 2024, the Pollinator Mural at a school/maison relais in Steinsel, Luxembourg, stands as one of Alex McKell’s most ambitious projects. This striking 20-meter-high artwork highlights the often-overlooked role of wasps in pollination, inviting viewers to expand their appreciation beyond the familiar bee. The mural’s dynamic design is a celebration of biodiversity, encouraging a deeper understanding of ecological balance.
To enrich the experience, Alex facilitated a workshop for local children, integrating fun, educational activities like quizzes and crafts focused on wasps. This initiative aimed to foster curiosity and a sense of connection to nature within the community. The project marks the beginning of an ongoing series in Luxembourg dedicated to showcasing diverse pollinators and the essential roles they play in our environment.
