CDJ Lorentzweiler

The CDJ Lorentzweiler project in March 2024 was a vibrant mural endeavor aimed at transforming the atmosphere of the local theatre room into an inviting and stimulating space. Alex McKell collaborated with service users at the Centre de Jour, engaging them in the creative process from start to finish. The project began with a workshop where Alex presented two digital mural designs, allowing participants to vote on their favorite. This interactive approach fostered a sense of involvement and excitement.

Additionally, color-free pages were distributed for the participants to personalize, further enhancing their connection to the project. During the mural’s execution, clients were encouraged to observe, chat with the artist, or even contribute to the painting. As a final flourish, gold leaf was added to highlight Luxembourg’s renowned Golden Lady (Gëlle Fra), elevating the mural’s visual appeal and reinforcing its cultural significance.
